Piano for a 4 year old
My Son loves the piano & I wanted to get him something for the Holidays, nothing major but I was looking at the toy pianos out there (Melissa & Doug, etc..) are they too small for a 4 year old?

Piano for a 4 year old
Too small IMO. We have one, it's more of a novelty item, my DD was too big for it at age 4. I would get a keyboard on stand instead.

Piano for a 4 year old
We have a keyboard on a stand that was given to us. My 5 yr old son loves it and is actually pretty darn good at it.

Too babyish. My DD started playing the real piano at 4. I would get a keyboard if anything.

My nephew has a keyboard on a stand -- much better and will last you a lot longer! He's been playing since that age. He takes lessons.

My husband is a piano teacher. He always says "just get them a cheap battery powered keyboard, they can't wreck it"

my friend bought my ds a melissa and doug piano for this 1st birthday but we are holding off giving it to him until christmas bc he'll be closer to two. I think the age on it said 3 though.
