photo moms who are taking their own holiday photos

$ is really thight this holiday season with a house in the works. so i want to take my own pics of DD for our holiday card...

i take relatively good pics of my dd but i dont know how to get her into good positions since shes not sitting up on her own. any suggestions on how to get her to into a good position. my only idea is to wrap the bouncy seat in a really fluffy white blanket and then maybe wrapping paper as a backdrop?

any suggestions/ ideas would be helpful thanks! Chat Icon

Will she be old enough for the bumbo? We stuck DS in the bumbo and then wrapped a big box and stuck the bumbo in the box. I also bought a white glittery tablecloth and layed it over pillows and put him across that.
If you want, fm your email and I will send you our pics from last year!

For my DD's 1st Christmas (she was 7 months old), we sat her in the Bumbo seat and her dress was long and fluffy enough to cover it!

DD was sitting on her own last Christmas. We took her to Fortunoff and stuck her in a display for a picture. I'm sure you could do the same at Hicks.

Re: photo moms who are taking their own holiday photos

I use Boppy pillows for the newborns I shoot. For my own DD I used the Bumbo chair for her first Chirstmas pictures. She was 1 month old when I took these:

I laid DD down on a black fuzzy piece of fabric I bought and snapped away.

Get a cheap stocking, cut the foot off, get a white glove stick your gloved hand through your cut stocking... Inexpensive and VERY cute (I used to do this all the time while working in a studio) :)

Example :)

I did something like this. I took big rubermaid crates, stacked two on top of each other. Covered their carseat with a blanket and put them in a stocking in front of the Christmas Tree

You can't see the lights in this pic but it is the only one I have on this computer

Re: photo moms who are taking their own holiday photos

We used the bumbo.

But you could lay them flat on a nice blanket/fabric and prop with pillows or a boppy.
