Phil and Ted owners, when did your older child outgrow the stroller?

We are back to the phil and ted's. DH said it is the best one for the city and once we move to the suburbs, we can buy another one if we need to. DH also thinks that DS#1 will want to walk more and it may just be convenient to have the bottom seat available if he gets tired vs pushing a side by side double stroller that will be half vacant most of the time.

When did your older child outgrow the phil and ted's?

WAs it a weight/height issue or your DC just didn't want to ride the stroller anymore?

we have two of them and love them. My DH did not want a side by side and now I agree. You can't get anywhere with them.
My oldest is 4 and he still sits in the stroller if we are out all day. My kids fight about who is going to sit on the bottom.
good luck

It would be awesome if the stroller lasted until DS#1 was 4yo. DS is 2yo now and likes to walk. I like the fact that he can sit there if he is tired but can walk and we won't be taking up the width of a double stroller.

DS is over 3.5 and still going strong in my P&T. It was the best investment!

My DD is pretty tall and she's fine in it. Although she does look a little scrunched up when it's raining out (3 years old, 39 inches tall).

The older one sits on the bottom, right?

DS is 2 and about 35 inches now.

OK. No more researching. We are getting the P&T.

Do you live in the suburbs or the city?

I think you live in Brooklyn?

No, the younger one on the bottom. And I live in Brooklyn.

Does that mean that if we were pushing the younger one in the stroller and older DS was walking, he couldn't just jump in the bottom seat?

Sorry if these are stupid questions.

Re: Phil and Ted owners, when did your older child outgrow the stroller?

My almost 3 year old's head just brushes the top of the stroller.

With the rain cover, his knees have to be bent up.

The recommended way to use the P&T is older child on top seat, younger on bottom.

Also, I really wasnt able to use the P&T comfortably for DD in the bottom seat until she was about 3-4 months old. You need to have some head control before you can use the bottom seat.

I have seen people with older child in the back seat, younger in the top, but the problem is, as a newborn, the seat has to pretty much be all the way flat (since they don't have head control) and then the child on the bottom has very little space. Plus, I was always afraid of DS kicking the top seat with his sister in it, so I always have him in the top seat.

Not stupid. But I wouldn't expect my older one to jump in the bottom seat. I feel like that would be very uncomfortable for her and knowing what a divalicious diva she is, she'd be PISSSSED and she'd kick the crap out of the top seat.

If I was going to walk around with my DS in the stroller and DD was just walking, I'd keep him in the back seat.

It was great for my original purpose - I walked to daycare every day. Now I switched daycares I don't use it as much and I was actually considering getting a sit and stand.
