Phil and Ted's or City Select Double Stroller?

Which do you think is better? They both cost around the same ~$800 after the second seat cost.

If you have one or the other, could you please share why you chose one over the other?

Love my Phil and Teds! I love how easily it maneuvers. It is truly no larger than a single stroller and fits in the narrowest of aisles!

Some critics don't like the fact that the smaller child is on the bottom, but DD loves to ride in it and like in the backseat of a car can look at either side.

It is the best baby purchase ever!

Re: Phil and Ted's or City Select Double Stroller?

I have the Phil and Ted's and so far I love it.

ITA with Gatsbygirl, manuevers so easily (better than my sinlge strollers) and is the footprint of a single stroller which is great for narrow city streets, getting in stores, between aisles, etc. it has allowed me to go out and about with my newborn and older DS easily.

DD is 5 weeks old and I use the car seat adapter in the top seat and 2 1/2 old DS in the bottom seat.

the big drawbacks of the P&T for me are:

1. no cupholder (parent or child)
2. no basket storage with both kids
3. no sun protection whatsoever

but for me, the pros definitely outweigh the cons.

Does the phil and ted not have a cupholder accessory? Or do none of the generic cupholders fit?

I know the baby jogger company sells a million accessories separately.

I got the City Select because it has an attachment for our Chicco car seat. I never liked the idea of one child being under another. Their field of view is limited and that's a big turn off for me.

I tested both of these w/ my DS's who are 20 months apart. the city select seemed too small for my 20 month old . I love the phil and ted but the baby's feet seem like they are in the basket. we wound up going with the city mini double side by side bc they seats were bigger and I don 't think the little guy would have liked the view from the P&T, he likes to look around

This is a little bit of P&T misconception. The baby CAN look around. DD has a great veiw at either side and has plenty to look at! Just like passengers in the back seat of a car can look around, too.

I agree. DS loves the bottom seat. he also likes that he has access to the back pocket of the upper seat and can store his toys and stuff back there.

I let him pick and most times he picks the bottom seat.

That was also my biggest concern - that the lower child would not be able to see. Every mom I know who has the phil and ted always says the kid who sits down there loves it.

How easy or difficult is it to fold?

I know the vibe can fold with both seats attached vs the other ones need to remove the second seat before folding.

It folds SO easily! Better than my single strollers/ the sit and stand!

I tried out both the Vibe and the Dash and IMO the Dash is easier to fold and folds smaller than the Vibe.

Is it easier even if you have to take off the second seat?

I'm envisioning myself trying to put this stroller in and out of a a trunk of a car while strapping two kids in. Sigh. I'm probably never going anywhere alone.

Re: Phil and Ted's or City Select Double Stroller?

I have the P&T sport and absolutely love it. The manueverability is unbelieveable. Not sure what people think a child needs to *see* when riding in a stroller- they have full view of each side. Both my DDs love riding in the lower seat.

That said, the City Select wasn't available when we were first in the market to get a double. I most definitely would have seriously considered it had it been.

Re: Phil and Ted's or City Select Double Stroller?

I debated this for months after first seeing the P&T and City select. after sampling every double stroller this is what DH and I agreed upon..(sorry this is so long but these are y findings...
P&T:
Pros:
easiest by far to manuver of ANY double strollers (sampled all in store)
loved the style and look (red one my fav)
great to have double or single if you wanted it, my DD is 2 and hates the stroller so I LOVE the option of it being single OR double so its not a waste
Cons:
price
only 1 option to sit double front to back I agree they dont need to "see" anything much back there they are not steering the stroller they look out the back..funny when ppl say "but they cant see" LOL
City Select:
They had JUST come out with this when I went to buy the P&T and I was blown away by the stroller.
Pros:
The different seating positions was a seller
great that it can be single or double
easier to fold up
Cons:
Harder to steer
harder to find (I went to pull the trigger and buy the red one..out of stock) its a hot seller right now
all the extras you need to buy for it make it pricier (snack trays, cup holder etc)

Sorry this is long but I did soooo much research and really debated before getting my double stroller......what did I get?????
I went to BBB to buy the Red City Select..couldnt find it anywhere and didnt want to have one backordered.
My cousin was done with her P&T (red one) and gave it to me...so in the end I have a P&T and to tell you the truth..I LOVEChat Icon it...It was the exact one I wanted to buy and find it is amazing. I love how BBB lets you sample all and you get a good feel for which one, its a heavy purchase so bring family and friends to help you decide.
Good Luck!!

Re: Phil and Ted's or City Select Double Stroller?

I have the city select and love it! I was considering the P&T and decided that I didn't like the seat on the bottom, it was too close to the ground. I also didn't like that I couldn't use a car seat with it. I also needed to have a storage basket.

The city select is great because you can change the seats to different directions. They are on the small side, but my older DS is small so it's not a problem. I don't know if the P&T's seats are bigger (or at least the one on top.) I love that if I only take out one DS, I don't have to put both seats in. I used it with the car seat adapter for the first 6 months. I love that I can have DS face me or out to the world. The only thing I am not happy with about the seat arrangements, is that depending on which way each seat is facing, the reclining is limited.

The storage area is ridiculous. It is extremely easy to access, and I have been food shopping with it!

I don't find it hard to steer. Of course it isn't as easy as a single jogger but considering it has 50-60 pounds of kid cargo, my diaper bag, and whatever else I have thrown into it, I still can manage it while on the phone!

HTH - let me know if you need anymore info!
