Petty vent
My daughter just text me to tell me she lost her Sophomore class election to a boy who didn't even spell Sophomore right on his posters. UGH. I'm bummed for her.

I know. She's so smart and driven. She's in the top 10 of her class of over 400. It's so disappointing that popularity wins out over brains and qualifications.

It's not a petty vent! Feel bad for your daughter..... Sucks when you work so hard but someone else who doesn't deserve gets recognition it totally sucks

I am so sorry!
Some years ago, my DD also lost ... to the Superintendent's son. He was allowed to use supplies from the art room for his posters, after she had been told she could not. She was running with a lovely Latina and their posters were pulled down by racist students who didn't like that a Spanish girl was running.
I did my best to help, had great T-shirts made for them, helped them make enormous 4' x 8' posters which the teachers loved and complimented, etc., but all for naught.
Your daughter truly has my sympathy.

Thank you. I sorry your daughter had to go through that too. All of her teachers have told her that they thought she should have won. But, there's always next year!
