Personal Trainer?

I'm thinking of hiring a personal trainer to help me get healthy and get in shape. I think it's a worthwhile investment in myself. Has anyone ever had one before?

Re: Personal Trainer?

when I had one I was in the best shape of my life- it became too expensive. Unfornately I did not keep it up - i found I went to the gym because I knew the trainer was waiting for me!

If you can afford it go for it. I had one and it was the best. He pushed me so hard and the results showed.

I agree. When I first started my WL journey I had one for close to a year. She was awesome and the perfect way to keep me going to the gym since I had an appt and I was paying. Chat Icon She definitely taught me so much and now I love going to the gym.

Re: Personal Trainer?

Thanks. I think it will be great t get me on track. I'll probably need her for awhile to kick my butt and get me going. I like the classes the gym offers but I know I need one on one guidance. I don't have alot of money but I think it's definately a god investment in my health and quality of life, so I'll make life style changes I need to. I'm so excited and a bit nervous to get started. I'm meeting with her tomorrow.

Re: Personal Trainer?

Having my trainer has been the best thing I have ever done for myself.

With that being said, the trainer doesn't do all the work. They just guide you. They teach you what to do and you have to follow through. YOu have to work on your own too and follow a healthy diet. So really you work as a team. You have to want to do it and don't rely too heavily on the trainer to hold your hand.

Re: Personal Trainer?

So the plan is working out wiht her twice a week and doing cardio 30minutes for a minimum of 3-4 times a week which I will have to do on my own. I did my first workout and it was at a good pace. I definately got a good workout and I will definately be sore in the morning - in fact I'm a little sore already! LOL.

Re: Personal Trainer?

I would love to have one, but the ones at my gym seem too "cookie cutter" for my liking
