Personal Question
Is anyone's DH afraid to have sex? Or opposite, are you afraid to have sex?

Re: Personal Question
It is umcomfortable to have sex. He stopped trying about a month or so ago. I think he is afraid because he is such a sexual person and for him to not even try is rare..I am happy though cuddling is all I can do these days.

Re: Personal Question
I don't know what's up with him, but he's been pretty, um, distant. I think he thinks that I'm not able to or don't want to. At this point, I feel so cumbersome and unattractive that I really don't care. He's never been very needy anyway

Re: Personal Question
No we're not afraid. But it's pretty uncomfortable and difficult with my bad back... it becomes more of a comedy act than anything

Re: Personal Question
In my case, DH is afraid to have sex.
We have had 3 very close friends in the last 6 months to go into early labor (at 28-30 weeks). He is soooo paranoid that this could happen to us as well. (all babies ended up being fine after being the hospital for a very long time).
Would this make you paranoid as well?

Re: Personal Question
Not afraid, we have been having sex throughout my pregnancy. However, I have been so uncomfortable the past week and I am not into sex when I am feeling pain and uncomfortable. DH has been a trooper this week.

Re: Personal Question
Marcie you should check out the March of Dimes website
March of Dimes
The whole site is dedicated to preventing pre-term labor/premature babies. I just read through a few things and nothing indicates that sex is a cause of pre-term labor... but it might make you (and DH) feel better if you read up on it. There are SO many things that can make it happen... it just sounds like a freak coincidence for your friends.

Re: Personal Question
I'm only 7 weeks and at first I was afraid because I had so much cramping. Lately, I have just been tired, irritable, nauseous, with sore boobs, so I haven't felt like it much.

Re: Personal Question
We have both been afraid the past week b/c of spotting. I don't think we can take it anymore - it is a slow form of torture.
If we do go ahead and it gets worse maybe I'll get a sono.

Re: Personal Question
Dh is definitely afraid. Either that or he just doesn't find me attractive anymore, which I find hard to believe because I haven't even gained a pound yet. It's actually very frustrating because I would like to be having sex as often as we used to and I think we've had it twice in the past 6 weeks since we found out I was pregnant. I find that to be ridiculous and I'm actually getting kind of angry about the whole thing.

Re: Personal Question
I wont do it if I'm crampy, back hurts, tired, or have heartburn which is often. I feel better about it now in my 2nd trimester that nothing bad will happen. I found out this weekend that DH feels funny about it with his baby in there, like the baby knows or something. But none of that has stopped us yet, I would like to continue at least once a week - I can't drink wine or stay up late anymore so I least I still have this!!

Re: Personal Question
I have a hard time getting past the fact that there's someone else involved in the scenario. I s-ck it up and try to take my mind off of it, but I feel gross knowing my baby is present. Especially now that I feel her moving all the time. It just seems wrong.
