pediatrician consultations?
It was recommended to me to collect recommendations of pediatricians in my area and make appointments for consultations before the baby is born so I can get to know the doc and also ask questions. Is this normal practice?

I did it....I interviewed only two pediatricians one in my neighborhood that a family member brings his kids too and recommended and the other was a distance away but was also recommended....I was very glad I did the interviews because on first glance I would've chosen the one farther away but after the interview I didn't like certain things about the doctor there.....so in other words if i didn't interview i might've went with the place for the wrong reasons and would not have been happy

pediatrician consultations?
I tried to do this with DC#1 and we only ended up interviewing 1 (they were a little far for us) so we went with a closer one that had really good recs from the board. They didn't even do consultation interviews but gave an info packet. Personally I found it to be a waste of our time for the one we did do but you should do what you feel comfortable with!!!

We did. There's a list on here with some great questions. There are a lot of peds in my area, so this helped narrow the field for me.

I did not do it. I figured I would go one recommendations and then if I didn't like the Dr I would change. Love my Ped.
