what are some questions to ask a pediatrician during a consultation?

i had no idea what i was supposed to ask when i went. i was actually a little nervous but when we went he was amazing and he told us everything and anything we could have possible ever thought of.

they went over the hours and if we need them while they are closed and how they will be at the hospital and all stuff like that.

Here are some questions someone on here gave me:

Definitely ask about the immunization schedule. Do a search here to look through all the discussions about them. Some Drs will give multiple shots in a day, and some Drs do not. Also you need to know what your comfort level is with immunizations.

Do they have a separate waiting area for newborns/non-immunized children?

Do they have a "sick" waiting room?

What are their emergency hours/availability?

Is there an additional fee for after hours care?

What is their policy on prescribing meds when the child is ill? What is their approach to medicine in general? (Home remedy/homeopathic/natural healing vs. all medicinal)

Do they do bloodwork and cultures in the office, or do they send you out to a lab?

Is this Dr affiliated with/have rights at the hospital you are delivering?

Is there more than one Dr in the practice?
