Re: Peanut butter

There's a theory that it can, but no evidence. I have also read that BFing mothers should avoid peanuts the first 6 months to lessen the chance of their infant developing the allergy.

Re: Peanut butter

There's a theory that the roasting process alters the chemical make up of peanuts, and can cause an allergy. It's just a theory though.

Peanut butter

Peanut butter was practically the only thing I was able to eat when pregnant with dd that didn't make me sick. She has NO food allergies (she became allergic to penicillin at age 10 after it having it numerous times growing up)

When pg with DS I ate it as well, and he, so far at almost 2yo, has no allergies.

Never heard that. Oops, lol. I lived on PB&J when I was pg with DD and nursing, and it's her favorite lunch now. Chat Icon No allergies. The smell of PB bothered me with this pregnancy, so I've been skipping it.

FWIW, other groups with Mediterranean diets (ie: lots of nuts) have lower incidences of allergies than we have here.

Yes, but I bet they either eat the nuts raw or boiled, not dry roasted like we do in the US.
