PBA question
Does the $$$ donated to the police benevolant association go somewhere else? This guy calls me last night for a donation and I kindly denied them. Things are tight and with 3 weddings coming in June I don't have a spare dollar! But isn't this what our taxes are for????

ETA: he also says "A lot of people are giving a lot less these days and we really need donations." Maybe that's because LI is squeezing every last dime from us!!!
Sorry to vent but as some of you may have seen my health insurance post, between that and the taxes being raised this past year I just can't....

I had a call the other day about the FHP doing a dont drink and drive thing. They offered to send a bumper sticker. I kept refusing and asked him to send me information in the mail or a phone number where I can contact someone at my convenience to make a donation. The guy got mad because I would not give him a donation over the phone. he said to me "well because of the cost of stamps and printing we just dont mail anything without a firm commitment with payment. I finally said listen I dont know who you are and you are solicitating for my credit card and or bank information over the phone without me having any knowledge of what I am donating too. I don't think so. He said we'll well call back. I said dont you dare and if you do I will report you to the real police. and hung up
