Paying a nanny/caregiver-how much?

In the process of searching for a part time nanny/babysitter.
The person would be expected to come to our home and there would be another person at home at the same time-either I or my dh will be working from home. Responsibilities would be feedings/changing/general baby care, maybe even some light housework if it works out ok.
I have twin girls who will be about 4 months at the time..
How do I figure out how much I should pay a person for this?

I work part-time, 2 days a week, and have a nanny come from 7:25-4:45 (weird schedule because I take the train) and pay her $100/day. I only have one child and have paid that rate since she was 5months old (she's 2 now)

I don't think it makes a difference that you are working from home, unless, of course, you plan on helping the nanny out at certain points during the day. I occasionally work from home and the only thing that changes is my commute... it's just going up the stairs Chat Icon I bring my lunch up with me and don't come down until the day is over because I worry that DD will want me to stay if she sees me.
