Is this tacky or not?

We're finding out the gender of our baby on my birthday, and plan to do a little gender reveal party the next day. We're only combining it so we only have to get people together once, should I even mention that it's my birthday or just leave it as a gender reveal? I was going to put "no gifts" on the Evite too, so people don't think we're trying to hit them for b-day/baby gifts.

How are you revealing? What about having it as a birthday party where the birthday cake contains the reveal? Keep the reveal as a surprise.

i wouldnt put no gifts. i personally would never go anywhere empty handed. you can mention that its just a small gathering of your closest friends/ family to celebrate your bday and gender reveal. if these are the people that are closest to you and our husband, they shouldnt feel like your're trying to get gifts from them. They should be honored you've included them and wouldnt think twice about bringing a little token gift. Its not like youre including a gift registry with the invitation.

I would just word it as what a better birthday gift for me,then finding out what are baby will be
