parks with paved trails in western suffolk
DD#2 got a two wheeler with training wheels for the holidays. Would like to take the kids on a paved park trail since we don't have sidewalks. I have a Smithtown sticker, willing to get the state pass soon too. Can anyone recommend PAVED bike trails our family can walk or ride on near Smithtown?
If you know what type of permit is needed to park or the fee to park I would appreciate it.
Thanks!

Caumsett State Park in Lloyd Neck is beautiful, with miles and miles of paved trails. It's about 10-15 minutes from downtown Huntington. Not sure if that's too far for you, but it's definitely worth the ride.
I think Caleb Smith State Park has paved trails, but I might be mistaken, I haven't been there in a few years.

I think Caleb is dirt trails. What about Blydenberg? Not sure what parking pass you can get for that one since its a county park. Wish there was something closer. All these dirt trail parks out here, LOL.

I would try Caumsett, it is really worth the drive. It's a state park, so you need the Empire pass, but it's $8 without the pass.
I just remembered Cathedral Pines in Middle Island has bike paths as well. That's a county park so there's no charge.

Hecksher in east islip has paved bike paths. We were just there today. My son also got a trike for Christmas. We also go to the sun vet mall in patchouge because the place is deserted

Caumsett is really nice and I don't think they charge this time of year but don't quote me
