Park Rangers

What do they do exactly and how does one become one? I think I would love being one...I saw one of them drive by me the other day and I was thinking...being outdoors...seeing the animals...but what else do they do?

Enforce the rules of the park. I was working on the computer systems for the current Suffolk County Park Police, back when they were Park Rangers. They gave out tickets for driving too fast, expired inspections, disorderly conduct, public lewdness, car accidents, noise, etc.
Not all park rangers have full police status, but I think they pretty much all are responsible for maintaining the rules and regulations of the park, and making sure it's a peaceful place for everyone else.
