Parent/Sibling Vent
Do or did your parents (mother or father) play favorites? Or can one of your siblings do no wrong? I love my mom and she has been so great to me during my surgery but sometimes she can be so unfair when it comes to my sister and I.

My Mom did- my Dad doesn't
I always had it much harder then my brother and sister
but in the end it made me have a better work ethic then my brother- ( he could do no wrong- never had to have an after school job- and guess what at 26 he has never held a job for more then 3 months)
but now things are different- My Dad just says yes to everything-

yes.... favorites are definately played in my family. My sister can never do any wrong (I'm very close with my sister, and don't resent her for the way my family treats us differently).
ETS: I'm the oldest. My sister is the middle child

Im the oldest so they were the strictest with me. Totally became more lenient with my sis and bro.
For my mother, my brother can do no wrong bc hes the baby and a boy.
Whenever they've done something stupid, its bc they learned it from me

No, um, I don't think my parents played favorites...but I was always the one who wanted to do stuff with them, etc. Like I went bowling with my dad and learned to cook and do crafts from my mom. My sister never showed any interest. I think she's always been jealous, but I don't think it was m parents playing favorites, she and I just have very different personalities, soour relationships with our parents were always different. Also, when we were kids she was closer with my mom, but I was a daddy's girl.

Whenever they've done something stupid, its bc they learned it from me
same with my family- I am the oldest- and I was treated the same way
but my brother and sister learned from my mistakes and therefore got away with more- or I would help them not get in trouble
I used to right notes for them- pick them up from school, take them in late etc.

I know how you feel- and my brother gets away with everything
he sold his car to move to florida- kept the money
he took my car to florida b/c I moved to the city- sold it- kept the money
got engaged- my Grandma gave up her ring for him
my sister's car was given to my Dad's ex-girlfriends nephew- she cashed in her bonds to move- I am sure she would have liked some of the car money
so annoying!

Neither play favorites. My mother does tend to help out the sibling who needs the most help financially - but if it wasn't for that she'd have to move out of state. We're all grateful she's here, so we have no issues.

I'm my mom's favorite and my brother is my father's favorite, so it all evens out. Thankfully there were only two of us.
