painting bathroom tiles
Does anyone have any experience with this? I would not do it myself, I would get a professional. I heard some people say it looks messy but others say it could turn out nice when a professional does it. I have these horrible tiles from the 70s that I can't bear to look at but I can't afford to re-do the whole bathroom. Any feedback would be appreciated! Thanks!

They just did an HGTV show on this! They painted the tiles in the kitchen...
It was The Unsellables... I'm having trouble finding the episode. Lemme keep looking.
eta: I can't find any pictures on it - but it looks like the episode will re-air on Sunday, October 4th at 10:30am.

great.. Thank you so much! Did you see the show? I am assuming they came out decently otherwise they would not have put it on tv unless it was a what not to do show...

My mom's a decorative artist and vendor on here - Something Different by Debbie Viola - and I know that she has done this in the past for people. In fact, we had a bathroom that was yellow and green (very stylish!) from the seventies and she saved it and made it grays and blues. http://www.debbieviola.com is the website... not sure if she has a picture of that up there

What about having them re-glazed (like a tub)? SOmeone on here was posting about that recently if you look on the past few days of threads... I don't think it's too expensive either.

It came out really good. The tiles had a pattern on it too. It was a REALLY busy tile!
They made it look really easy too - professionals did do it but I'm sure you could do it. They just scruffed up the tile a bit, primed (I'm sure you need a special primer), then painted with a roller.

I remember this episode, I think there were 2. I was shocked that you could paint tile. i had no idea. Looked great after that.

the portuguese house right? with the statues everywhere? I just watched it last night... the house came out really nice
