Packing away Fine China
Can I use newspaper instead of bubble wrap? Moving away in a month and want to start packing my china, but not sure if newspaper is a safe alternative

Packing away Fine China
Use unprinted newspaper. Printed newspaper could damage the china.

I would pack in bubble wrap. The newspaper could leave marks on the china.

U haul. Public storage. Even Home Depot or Lowe's. Anywhere that has packing/moving supplies.

Home Depot has rolls of thin foam for $10 that you can use for the china. Takes up a lot less space than bubble wrap. I packed up MIL's fine china and some glassware to give to a cousin.

We just bought boxes and packing material from BoxesAZ.com. Very reasonably priced. They have packing paper, if you prefer that over bubble wrap.

We used something similar to these for our china, dishes and glassware. These made packing a lot easier and nothing broke.

I have a set of China storage quilted plate separators. You can get them from Home Depot or Walmart on line for about $15 for a set. I would not use printed newspaper since the ink can permanently mark the China or porcelain.

Re: Packing away Fine China
I used paper towel for all of my breakables. It didn't ruin anything with staining or smell and I saved it all in bags under the sink for future cleaning use. Win win

I uses those quilted bags that they make for China storage, and each dish was separated by foam , which was included with the quilted bags.
