Packing advice needed !?!?
Ok, I need help packing for my 4 day trip. These new regulations have thrown me a bit off balance with more going in my suitcase. Below are the regulations from US Airways as of 2pm today:
Baggage policy for all flights: NO LIQUIDS OR GELS OF ANY KIND WILL BE PERMITTED IN CARRY-ON BAGGAGE. ITEMS MUST BE IN CHECKED BAGGAGE. This includes all beverages, shampoo, suntan lotion, creams, tooth paste, hair gel, and other items of similar consistency.
Exception: Baby formula, breast milk, or juice if a baby or small child is traveling; prescription medicine with a name that matches the passenger's ticket; and insulin and essential other non-prescription medicines
Beverages purchased in the sterile area must be consumed before boarding because they will not be permitted onboard the aircraft. US Airways will continue to monitor the situation and adjust ticketing policies as needed.
So one of my dilemnas is my make-up. Do you think I have to pack it or can it go in my carryon? I have a large round Vera Bradley make-up case with all (well most, doesn't include lipsticks or tools) in it. Usually I always bring it all with me. But now if I have to check it, do you think I should bring just the stuff I think I will wear? I have this fear of checking it and losing it all. Plus if i pack it in a smaller bag it will take up less room.
TIA!!!

Given that this 'liquid/gel' security issue is so new. I would pack all your essential makeup in a small bag and pack it in your luggage to be check. Just to avoid any issues with check in and security

I would check it all. Unless you hear otherwise, why not make your trip to the gate seamless?
Why do you need your makeup with you so badly?
ok just re-read LOL you want to know if you should sort through and not bring everything...
I'd bring only what I would use on the trip and check those items in my luggage

Just bring what you would wear since security is going to go through everything. I would put it in my checked bag just to speed the process up further. I have never (knock wood) had anything go missing or lost from checking my bags.

I would just take the essentials and pack them in your suitcase, this way you won't have to ditch it out of your carry on in case they make you....Then you have nothing...

Ditto. This is what I'm doing. There's no way I'm going to CVS when I land at midnight to buy a bunch of things I can't even bring back with me, so I'm storing my makeup and hair stuff in a bag in my luggage. Wasn't planning to check it, but that's the only way to go now.
Hopefully by tomorrow they're still letting people do that, and don't ban liquids all together. If someone took my new almay foundation away...I would be sad.
