To be honest, I think that it is one of the most practical baby items. Even when you are home, the baby can sleep/play in it when you are busy.

I haven't used mine yet, but I agree. After the baby outgrows the top they could use the bottom to play in like what we used call a play pen.

Re: Pack and Play
Yeah. Love it. Get one with a changing table. I used that until DS was 3 months old in my living room.
I live in a ranch and it is in my living room. DS napped in there as a newborn and now plays in there when I am doing stuff in the house.
Plus I can throw all of the little rattles, toys, stuffed animals and blankets he uses during the day in there at night and it looks neat in here.
Oddly enough, we've traveled a lot in DS' four months of life and never brought it with us

We aren't getting one but we don't travel too often other then NY but my in laws have one there so we don't need it. If you travel often it is very practical.

Re: Pack and Play
I use mine everyday. We still use the bassinet part since DS is 9 weeks old.
Since I have 2 dogs, this is the only way I can have DS be with us in the LR and be "safe" from the licks from our dogs.
Later, we will remove the bassinet part and he will use it as a play pen.

Re: Pack and Play
We put one on our registry only because we decided not to register for a bassinet. We're going to use the pack and play instead in our bedroom and move it out once we move the baby to the crib.

Re: Pack and Play
We have one and use it a lot. We have a Graco with the bassinet and changing table feature. We use it for occasional naps downstairs and get great use out of it as a downstairs changing table. We are traveling at the end of the month and plan to bring it with us for the same uses.

Re: Pack and Play
We registered for one since our place is 2-story. I figure baby can nap downstairs in it, and we can use it as a changing table so we don't have to go up and down the stairs a million times.

Re: Pack and Play
DS is 6 mos never used it. When we go away I just request a crib for the hotel. My 2yr I think I might have used it all of 3x's.

Re: Pack and Play
I'm thinking of getting one with the bassinet feature, and since we live in a split level and I probably won't always want to go up and down the stairs to the crib, it seems to make good sense if I want the baby downstairs with me during the day.

Even though I live in a ranch, I still used mine in the living room for her to sleep in during the day. When she was bigger she played in it.

Nope I brought mine back. I have CH Colonial. When my DD naps she goes up in her room with the video monitor on. The steps are a good workout

Re: Pack and Play
We bought one each for the grandparents' houses esp if the baby is sleeping over, etc.
Haven't had the baby yet but it was recommended to us.

Re: Pack and Play
I am planning on putting mine in the den downstairs. We registered for one with the changing table and I think it will be more convenient that running up and down the stairs.

My mom has it at her house. Whenever she babysits, she would use it.

Re: Pack and Play
Our house is two stories. I can't imagine being downstairs in the kitchen without someplace safe downstairs for the baby to be, so I registered for one. I am also allowed to bring baby to work, so I registered for a second one for that after going to the story and trying to break down the "home" pack & play. There is already one at my mom's house which she uses every single time she babysits my now 2 yr old niece.
