Ovidrel
Ok, doing trigger shot tonight; for those who've taken it, what can I expect? They said to take it bet. 8-10pm; should I take it as close to bed as I can? The nurse said be prepared-it's PMS in a bottle

Re: Ovidrel
I took it once- but I had taken Gonal-f before that for a couple of weeks (my dr started me off VERY slow) so I'm not sure what side effects are from the actual ovidrel. I do remember that I cramped a lot the day after taking it. GL!!!

Re: Ovidrel
I really didn't have any PMS symptoms with it...actually 48 hours after I was a little queasy, but other than that, nothing out of the ordinary.

Re: Ovidrel
OK, I have used Ovidrel 4 times now (3 with IUI, 1 w/IVF this cycle). I had no side effects. Just drink lots of water/Gatorade the next day. It's also really easy to use b/c you don't have to mix or draw up the meds. Just slowly and carefully push out the air on top. Like they showed you. Oh and you should let it sit out for like 10-15 minutes before you use it so it's not cold. You will however feel that you O'd more than you ever had. You will know exactly when it happens. You are doing it with IUI or IVF? Sorry can't remember.
Good Luck!!!!!

Re: Ovidrel
If you did the Ganerlix shots then its just the same way.
When you mentioned the line about PMS in a bottle I laughed because I think I was a bit grouchy for a few days thinking about it now. But other than that, I don't remember feeling anything else.
I'm guessing the IUI is tomorrow or Saturday so good luck!!!

Re: Ovidrel
Are you injecting it into your stomach? I did it with my 1st IUI and will be doing it again Mon or Tues for IUI #3, just make sure to ice the area first, you will not feel it at all. Good luck!!

Re: Ovidrel
Yes, going into stomach; we've been doing Gonal-F & Ganirelix for past two weeks so pretty used to it. Once in awhile, it will hurt alot more than the others. Just glad it's just one more shot because DH is really not enjoying doing this to me

Re: Ovidrel
I have no problem with Ovidrel. The only side effect I have experienced was fatigue. It's a pretty easy shot to give. Best of luck!

Re: Ovidrel
I closed my eyes and made DH do it. But as OP said, you will feel it when you ovulate. I will never forget that moment--we were in the car, and it stung on the right side, and I figured that must be it.
The only thing I experienced was some stinging at the injection site for about 1/2 hour afterward, but it was totally bearable.
I was sick to my stomach on 7dpo, but I have no way of knowing if that was the Ovidrel, or the impending BFP that I got 5 days later. It works! Good luck!!!
