Our first attempt at time out
So we had IL's over yesterday for a bbq....SIL had her baby (about 6 weeks old) with her. Mikayla is around aidan 3 days a week when the IL's watch her for us
She is usually VERY good with the baby, gives him kisses, plays "nice", etc
Well yesterday, she was "making nice"(aka rubbing his head), she then attempted to poke him in his eye, when I told her to make nice, she hit him  
I took her and said "no hitting" and then placed her in the corner. I told my guests to ignore her for ONE minute. She proceeded to go up to everyone with her arms outstretched but no one picked her up. She did not cry until AFTER time out was over, I bent down and said "no hitting miki, you have to be nice to the baby"
That is when the tears started 
I brought her over to aidan, she gave him a kiss and all was forgiven
THAT WAS SO HARD TO DO THOUGH...I wanted to pick her up SO bad when she came up to me but I turned my back and walked away

Yeah I hear ya. When we put DS in time out he puts on the saddest face ever and cries.

You did the right thing - I am so proud of you for making it work. I need to keep your strength in mind as we do this with Lucas. It's important...but very hard.

So hard but you really did the right thing. You handled it perfectly! You did not hit her or anything. I think she understood she did something wrong. You are really a good mom!!!!!
