Our afternoon in the ER (slightly TMI) UPDATE
So we went to BBB to register yesterday (the staff there is WONDERFUL, btw). We only were able to register for the crib, because I felt like I had my period. Sure enough, I was bleeding. My Dr. didn't seem overly concerned because I wasn't cramping and because I was 17 weeks, but she said it was up to me if I wanted to go to the ER. So we went for peace of mind. Southside Hospital was WONDERFUL to us. We got right in. By the time we got there, I had saturated my pantiliner but the bleeding had stopped. They did an internal, took a urine sample, and did a quick sono. The baby was fine, my cervix was closed, and she said there was only a little bit of bleeding left. We waited longer for my tests to come back (which was better than waiting for the doctor). I have a UTI, so I was given an antibiotic, put on pelvic rest, and I have to call the doctor tomorrow. They also said it was a "threatened miscarriage" which doesn't mean I am miscarrying or will, but when there is bleeding there is a threat. Hopefully I will get more answers tomorrow. For now I'm hanging out on the couch and DH has been incredible. I'm only seeing blood when I wipe, and it's brown and dried, so it could be from the internal.
I'm just so scared. They think the UTI may have something to do with it. I just want everything to be okay.
UPDATE: So I still have some brown spotting, but only after I use the bathroom. Went to the doctor and again, because the heavy bleeding has stopped and I have no cramps she said everything looks good. I'm still on pelvic rest. She listened to the baby on the doppler and the heartbeat was going strong. So I'm on pelvic rest until my Level II at the beginning of March. I'm still a little worried, but that's just my nature.
Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes!

Keep resting! Everything will be okay! I would panic, too, but from what I hear, some people DO bleed in their 2nd Trimester and everything turns out fine. You did the right thing by getting checked out right away! And it sounds like everything looks okay...
Good luck, feel better and lots of prayers!!

That is very scarey but I'm glad you are doing better and the baby is fine. Sometimes these things just happen but rest up and all the best.

Re: Our afternoon in the ER (slightly TMI) UPDATE
Sounds like a good update! If the cramps and bleeding have stopped seems like its better.
I know it is hard to get rid of the worry, but hang in there. March will be here before you know it!

Re: Our afternoon in the ER (slightly TMI) UPDATE
I had the same exact thing last week and I'm 17 weeks also. I had some REALLY bad cramping and light spotting that ended up getting heavier when I was sent to L&D. They gave me an antibiotic and I haven't had any of those symptoms since then.
My friend also had the same symptoms and it was a UTI at 17 weeks. Just rest as much as you can and drink plenty of water.
