OT: Personal Checks with no address

I am "in between homes" (if you didn't know that already) and have absolutely no checks left!

I don't want to order them and get with my current address, don't have a future address... can i order with NO address?

i remember, years ago, some places didn't accept checks with no address on them. is it still like that?

My checks are like that....I only use them for a few bills- which is why I took my address off- since I rent and at the time I knew I was not staying there

No one has ever said anything- but I don't use them at stores (debit card for stuff like that)

you can order them with no address and if the person/place you are writing the check to needs the address, you can handwrite it in. i've done that before - i've even crossed out my current address and written my new one in

Yes, thats how mine always are. It's suggested for safety reasons. I would never put my addy. I have never had an issue, nor I have ever heard of one with someone not accepting it.

If you go to your bank, they can print you out a number of checks w/ no address. We did that until we closed on our house.

I haven't had an address on my checks for years now. Experts say you shouldn't have your address on your checks for identity theft reasons. I've never had an issue where an address was needed on the check.

You can definitely get checks ordered without your address, but they have to be from the bank. I tried to order checks from one of those mail order places with the pretty checks and they wouldn't do it without an address printed.

I couldn't see spending $25.00 on checks for a temporary amount of time, and rebuying them later.

Call me cheap.

I'm in the same boat. I opened up a Capital One checking account and was given 150 free checks. Didnt want to put my current address on them since i'll be outta here in 30 days.

I just had them put my name on the checks and no address.

If you really want to be secure, you can get the checks without your name on them as well. Name and address isn't a requirement for a personal check.

But I just put my name on the check. No address. Pretty happy with that. These were issued by the bank.

Many of my clients have PO boxes and that is what they have on their checks. Generally, if I receive a payment check with no address, I wait for it to clear before beginning the work. So far it has only happened in cases where person could afford to wait for a few days or even needed time to get more information for me.

Yes, I had checks with no address on them for several years while I was renting. I didn't want to use my temporary addresses. They accepted them pretty much everywhere as I recall.
