Organic moms - School Milk?

DS just started K and got a letter home if we want to purchase milk for him in advance to receive every day at lunch. At first I thought great but, then I realized it's likely non-organic milk right? Non-organic milk skeeves me to be quite honest and I'm not sure I want him drinking milk with the hormones and antibiotics in it! That said, it's a small amount I'm sure so wondering if I'm making a big deal about it and should just get it. What did you do? TIA!

I am not an organic mom...however what I do is send my DS with milk (horizon chocolate or vanilla boxed milk) for snack each day. they have snack in the am. THen I send a water and juice box with his lunch.

if non organic skeeves you out, I woundn't do it regardless of the amount.

Find out if they offer organic milk. Our school does, but they don't advertise it, you have to specifically request it.

I would send Horizon Organic to school.

I came up with this problem last year and it was non organic so I decided that DD would not be drinking it and I explained to her why she wouldn't be drinking it and as a special treat she gets chocolate milk in her drinking bottle once a week from home - made from organic milk.

It might not seem a lot of but its still five days a week for the school year and if you are giving organic milk at home I would stick with that.

If non organic milk is a problem why not just send in a horizon or organic valley milk box every day instead?

I am not comfortable with regular non-organic milk drinking either. Certainly here and there, when organic is not available, I have no problem with. But I would not be ok with non-organic every day. I would ask first if they offer organic. If not, I'd send in my own milk.
