Organic foods

Hi all,

My twins just turned 1 and are done with baby food. They aren't interested in it anymore. I want to change the way I cook and eat so that everything is healthier for them, without going broke. I know there are some people who have done extensive research on different brands and preservatives, etc., and I was wondering if someone could direct me to a thread that has that information. If not, could we talk about a few basics and practical issues --

1. Which grocery store has the best selection and prices on organic produce/milk/eggs? (I have easy access to King Kullen, Trader Joe's, ShopRite, Pathmark, Waldbaums, Uncle G's, Best Yet and Stop n Shop)

2. Do coupons for organic produce or milk ever come out? If so, which brands?

Any other helpful hints from BTDT would be appreciated! Thanks :)

Re: Organic foods

We try to buy organic when we can.

We've found Trader Joe's has the cheapest price for Organic Whole Milk - $5.99/gallon.

King Kullen is usually around $5 for a 1/2 gallon.

We also buy a lot at Target.

We are not 100% organic, but probably around 75%. We do our food shopping at Trader Joe's, Whole Foods, & Stop and Shop. I buy either Nature's Promise, Horizon, or Trader Joe's organic milk. Get most of my organic produce at Whole Foods. Grass fed beef and organic chicken at Whole Foods or Stop & Shop. Snacks for DS at Stop & Shop- my favorite brands for him are Annie's, Earth's Best, Plum Organics, & Kashi.
