ordering invitations from etsy (file purchase)

I'm helping my mom find invitations for my baby shower. I've see so many cute one's on Etsy but many of them seem to be a file purchase rather then the physical invite purchase.

My printer at home STINKS and the printer at my mom's isn't any better. Plus, I feel like it would cost too much $ to print them ourselves on our home comps (ink wise).

I'm guessing you can bring the file to somewhere like kinkos and have them printed.

Has anyone done this and if so where did you print them up and if you have prices that would be great.

TIA

I did this for my friend's bridal shower. I had them printed at Costco, but you could go to a Staples or Kinkos too. I don't remember how much they cost exactly, but it wasn't that expensive.

My sister has been able to print them at CVS or Kinkos.

You may already be set on the invites from etsy but have you looked at VistaPrint? I have order many invites from them in the past and I have never been disappointed. You can customize the quality of the paper/layout/design/colors.

Just a suggestion because it might be easier for you. And if you look around they web they ALWAYS have a coupon.

I ordered a file for dd's baptism and had them printed on photo paper at walgreens. Then I bought envelopes for 4x6 pics at staples. They came out great!

I just did this for DS's Baptism and used MPIX. They came out really well and it wasn't pricey at all!

Yes, if you get the 4x6 ones you can print at Walmart for 13 cents each, then you can get "A6" envelopes. They fit 4x6. The quality looks just like a 4x6 picture.

5x7 are like 1.47 or something to print, and I believe the envelope size is A7

She could upload the file to vista print and have all the same options Chat Icon

To the OP- when you order the file- specify the size you want to have it printed at. Then, you can just upload the file to a photo printing site or costco.com and have it printed. (Decide where you will print BEFORE you order so you can confirm the print size)

OP- Sorry to crash your post
but when ordering from costco...did you just upload the image and order it like a photo? just a 5 x 7 photo? or did you order a card?

I only get my invites from Etsy. It's so easy! I always have them sent to Costco. They also give you the envelopes.

Does Costco print them on card stock if you want or only photo paper?

I've only gotten the photo paper. That's the thing. If you want card stock, you may have print them somewhere else.

I ordered as a card. It's $14.99 for 50 with envelopes. The card is bigger than 5x7 though- so make sure you let the designer know.

Re: ordering invitations from etsy (file purchase)

I've ordered invites on Etsy, a file, and then had them printed on cardstock at a print shop like Minuteman Press. You can get envelopes there also. Don't remember the cost though. Wasn't cheap like printing on photo paper but wasn't as expensive as ordering on tiny prints, kwim.

Re: ordering invitations from etsy (file purchase)

I just did this for DS's birthday party invites... I uploaded the file to a local printer's website-- Minuteman Press. Just chose was kind of cardstock and they were done the next day.

That was the first time I ordered a digital file on etsy and I'll def do it again, so easy!
