OPK's and CM?? Mucho info warning.

I just started using OPK's this month. I know some say not to use FMU but I am just using the CVS brand right now and it doesn't say not to. Anyway, I've gotten a + for the past 3 days however, it doesn't match my CM at all. Chat Icon I usually have EWCM for 3 days and haven't had it at all. We have been BD'ing in the mornings and I know that affects things but what else could be going on?

Also, when I test in the morning, it's a clear positive. I tested a few times at night and was borderline but the next morning positive again??

Thats why it's usually not recommended to test with FMU. The LH that the OPK tests for could build up overnight and give a false +.

Hmm, for some reason CVS brand says to use it though with their test. So confused!

I tested both ways: and got my positives first in the AM always (few months of this). The PM urine may not be concentrated enough (esp if you are drinking throughout the day... which can dilute urine).

I think the problem with AM OPKs is that you can "miss" your surge by 12 hours as I believe your production really kicks up later in the day... (which doesn't really matter because I O exactly 36 hours after my surge).

I never paid much attention to CM, so I can't help you there... I used CVS brand OPKs too & they were pretty accurate to my O-date. I'd check with the number of days past O that you get your period (most stable time interval in your cycle). Mine was exactly 16 days past + OPK. If it is more stable with CM, use that.
