OPK vs your intuition
Dearest friends: OK I have a question as per the past 3 months I have been getting positive OPK on the 19 CD. This month on D 14 i was awaken in the middle of the night by terrible ovulation pains. I was even nauseous. DH and I happened to BD right before bed. Upon wakening I bought CBE digital OPK. The reading came out negative when I took it at 6pm. This seems so strange. DO you think it's possible that I am Ovulating and test not picking up? Or can you get ovulation pains 5 days prior to ovulation? I have appointment with GYN in Feb. Seems strange. Does anyone have similar experience? Sue

Re: OPK vs your intuition
Well if you're currently ovulating, the test could come up negative, b/c an OPK only picks up an LH surge, which typically happens 24-36 hours before Oing. So if you weren't testing in that time frame prior to your pains, you could have missed the surge.
What's going on with CM? Is it wetter than usual? EWCM?

Re: OPK vs your intuition
I think your right. I was going to continue with OPK to see if I get surge but now I think you are correct. November positive OPK on CD 15. December positive OPK on CD 19. If o-ed on Friday then that would be CD 15. I was guessing it would be CD 19 so did not test until yesterday. This craziness cracks me up.

I hear ya. I have never O'd earlier than CD 20, but I start OPKs on CD10. It's a PIA, but I'm always afraid I'm going to O sooner and miss it.That part of your cycle, especially if you're prone to being a little irregular, can change. Good luck!
