OPK Question...UPDATE in last post...
Do they work for everyone? I tried taking them all weekend and last month and never got my but I know that I did O last month (confirmed with blook test) and my RE thinks I O'd yesterday, which will be confirmed today. She said that they may just not work on me...is this possible? I haven't heard that from anyone yet.

Re: OPK Question...
Are you taking them between 2 and 8 pm after having held in your urine for 4 hours?

Re: OPK Question...
besides the CBEFM you shouldnt take the tests with FMU... its too concentrated.. like maybeamommy said... you should test between 2-8pm for best results!!

the reason for this is because the hormone that an OPK picks up is one that builds in your body as you are awake....which is why FMU wouldn't really be a good thing...

wouldn't the dr. know this? I hate getting such conflicting opinions! They told me FMU and I know you girls always say in the afternoon with a hold, which I did last month and still never got a . I am still waiting to hear from them....after all these bloodtests I feel like a pin cushion and my arms are so black and blue.

Re: OPK Question...
if your arms are getting black and blue - here's a TRICK....
they take the blood - tell you to put pressure with the bandage. SOME places tell you then to raise your arm up to seal the pressure. DO NOT DO THIS...that motion is what causes the bruising!!!!!
By raising your arm up I mean going from straight to an angle... Keep your arm STRAIGHT...that helps immensely with the bruising!!!!

I have the same issue - where the tape was turns BRIGHT red...but i'm like casper the ghost...i'm THAT pale... dave & I frequently joke that Spot is going to be CLEAR (because we're both really pale)!!
It's odd that the doc told you FMU...here would be my main ?? - are you using a clear blue easy fertility monitor? If so, THAT ONE gets used in the morning - but all other opk's get used in the afternoon... The instructions even say so...so maybe you can raise the issue with him by saying that...

I was using the CBE digitals...I think they say can be used any time of day on them and when I asked the nurse when I should take them that was what she said and I double checked I heard right bc I know what everyone here says...I am still waiting to hear if I did in fact O yesterday. Would it be possible for them to just not work on me? I guess anything is possible, right?

Re: OPK Question...
You CAN test in the morning, but you may miss the beginning of your surge that way.
Think of it like this:
Let's say I O on CD 16.
I test with OPKs the night of CD 14 and get a +, then the night of CD 15 I get a +. The night of CD 16, I get a negative. I see the beginning and end of my surge, so I BD on CD 14, 15, and 16 (at least).
If I test on CD 14 morning, I'd get a negative. I'd get a positive on CD 15 in the morning. The morning of CD 16, I'd get a negative. I'd only see one part of the surge, so I woudln't BD on CD 14 since I didn't know! But I'd BD on CD 15 and 16.
Does that make sense?

Re: OPK Question...
I have a lot of difficulty with OPK's - first month I got error messages and missed my smiley but know I O'd as I used the cheapy version also.
Last month I never got a smiley but did get two lines with my cheapy version.
This month I am using both the cheapy and the CBDOPK again and I will see what happens in the next few days. I dont really like them yet but maybe if I get my smiley this week I will change my mind.
Its so frustrating

Yes that does make sense! I will have to try again next month as far as testing goes but I think at that point I will be going to the RE everyday for bloodwork.
I got my results and I did just O so in her words.....Go have fun again tonight so I guess that puts me at 1dpo and in the 2ww!
