OPK Question

Hey Girls,

I've been using OPK's since Sunday. Sunday it was negative and then I had a nice dark line on Monday...........and then on Tuesday and Wednesday at the same time!! I've read that it's not uncommon to see your surge for a few days but I was wondering if anyone else had the same experience or do you peak, get a positive once, and then the OPK's show nothing? Just wondering. Thanks!!!!!

once I get a positive one I don't test again so I'm no help but I have read on here you can get for a few days. I've only used these for 1 cycle so far

Something similar just happened to me! I had what appeared to be a positive on one day then nothing and then another positive again! I never thought to factor in the time of day. Now that I think of it both positives were in the am.

I have gotten a smiley two days in a row. I think it's possible to have it for a couple of days if you catch the surge at the beginning.

if you have a normal cycle the surge should be a day or two. but if you have PCOS thats left untreated your LH may cause +OPKs for several days in a row, followed by no ovulation. i had this happen MANY times and its what led to see an RE. i would get 3-4 days of +OPKs and no ovulation (i was temping so i knew i wasnt ovulating). then i would get -'s for a few days and then a week later another 4-5 days of +. if you think theres a chance you have PCOS then you may want to temp to confirm if you are ovulating or not.

I usually get a smiley for 2 days in a row, sometimes 1. I think I read somewhere that if you frequently get a positive OPK for 3 days you should discuss with the doctor.
