OPK - two lines question.

Ok so DS is 18 months, I have been BF him since birth and no period yet. Yesterday on a whim I took an OPK and the second line appeared - is this a fluke or do you think I am actually ovulating this month?

I believe you can still O when you are BF even if you haven't gotten your period.

But, the test line needs to be as dark, or darker than the test line in order for it to be positive. You probably have some LH in your system because you are still BF.

Keep testing and see if it gets darker.

the second line has to be as dark or darker than the control line... id keep testing but only for a few days...

i took what i thought was an HPT but it was actually an OPK...the 2nd line showed up immediately... and then AF showed later that day...

If you read the instructions, it usually says that it may not be accurate for women who are BFing. However, I did get + OPK's when I was still nursing (at what seemed like the right time in my cycle). You may have just hit the nail on the head and used it on the day your were surging! I would definitely keep testing to make sure that the line disappears, then you would know if it was just + due to BFing or not.

Thanks, so I did another test tonight and there was no second line...so did I O or what?

I would think that you are probably Oing now if you had a + test yesterday!

I need to edit...I thought there was no second line but when I went back upstairs to throw the opk in the trash there were two lines......so I could be O'ng this weekend right?
