first, i DO NOT think your daughter looks overweight or even "bigger"... i think she looks totally "normal"
that being said, I wish my ped was firmer with my mother when i was growing up i wish my mother was firmer with me, also.
i was also thin, until about 8 years old. I have had weight issues ever since. i don't remember my mother EVER telling me "no".
it might be harsh but there are ways to teach our children good habits and they will thank us in the long run
As someone dealing with this now with our 10 year old. I rather a ped be firm than nonchalant.

The dr is nuts! She isn't even chubby! She's asorable though. My friends son was 2 weeks older than mine and about 25 pounds at 8 months! He's 3 now and super lean! Don't give it another thought!

When I first read the OP I thought the ped was crazy, because my DD weighed the same at her 2 year visit... but then I realized she also measured 4 inches taller (I believe around the 90th percentile for both).
I think your ped's delivery was terrible and he didn't need to be cruel about it, but her height percentile is significantly lower than her weight percentile and it probably is something you should pay more attention to now, before it's an issue.

I don't have DD's 2 year stats handy - but now at 30 months of age she is about 1/2 inch taller than your DD and does not weigh 30lbs - she is only 28.6lbs.
This is a pic from June:

Re: Opinions pls-taken back by dd check up today
I wouldnt take to heart what they say too much bc if they are going by the charts it totally depends on birth weight etc. For example my DS was born 5lbs 15oz he more than tripled his weight by the age of 1 but he was always in the 10th % in weight. but that doesnt mean that he is really skinny. Not every child is the same. Your DD looks like a berautiful, healthy 2 year old.
Sometimes doctors can be morons.....
