Re: opinions on 3D sonos
MY OB has the 3D machine in his office and everytime the tech does a sono she always gives us a free 3D face sono pic.
We had the option for $100 of getting a full 3D sono session, but honestly didn't feel it was worth it. I'm not crazy about how the 3D pics look.

Re: opinions on 3D sonos
I'm getting it done, mostly because my friend is a tech and is doing it for free. My Dr. also told me that if you're going to do it you should wait until atleast 30 weeks, otherwise they haven't developed much fat yet and they can look a little alien-like.

Re: opinions on 3D sonos
We are having twins and our Drs sono machine is not powerful enough to really see both of them, so he has been sending us to Madonna in Mineola for 4D sonograms. I can't even tell you how amazing they are! We got a shot Friday that looks just like a photograph. I will post pics as soon as we get a scanner. Before spending the money, why not ask the doc if you can get a script for Madonna? Then it is just your copay.

we are not doing one. I'd rather put the money away for later use or to start off a college fund.

Re: opinions on 3D sonos
We have the option of paying $250 for it too. We have decided against it. I think mostly because this is #2 and we know that once the baby is born sonos are not as important as pics of the baby. KWIM

Re: opinions on 3D sonos
I think it's really cool, but I personally wouldn't spend the money. I was fine with waiting to see him in real life.

Re: opinions on 3D sonos
There is an article in the paper about having extra sonos done and that Dr.s did NOT recommend it only for medical purposes. I will NOT, too much $$ as well. I would rather spend the $250 on something more important...JMO

Re: opinions on 3D sonos
I had it done just this past Saturday.. My doctor totally approved it (since I have hardly had any sonos done during this pregnancy) and while I agree it was a LOT of $$ ... DH and I decided to splurge a little bit and treat ourselves (this was our anniversary gift to each other )
Will post pictures a little later It was a great experience and I am very glad I wound up doing it
(I was 30 wks when I had it done)

Re: opinions on 3D sonos
I just had it done yesterday for my level II. It was covered by insurance. I thought most ins. companies covered it now. It is seriously the most amazing thing ever. We saw her moving all over the place and could actually see all internal organs (brain, heart, cord, bladder, spine, etc.) and we saw all outer body parts. I highly reccomend it!

Madonna in Mineola has them??? I didn't get them when I was preggo!! (but I mostly went the one in Babylon - guess they are keeping up now with technology....)
Personally, if they were free i'd do but if not - I wouldn't pay for it. I was surprised about the sex and I feel those sonos show too much...I like the whole surprise aspect as part of having a baby...so not sure I want to see that much.

Re: opinions on 3D sonos
I will not get one for several reasons. 1. The pics sort of freak me out a little bit. 2. We know the sex already so we feel that her features can be left a surprise. 3. FDA's warning against excessive ultrasounds 4. The money can be better spent elsewhere.

Re: opinions on 3D sonos
When we went my son was "camera shy" but we did get a few great shots of my daughter...I wasn't aware of the warnings against sonos...but my doctor is sending me every 3 weeks until they are born...now I am worried!
