Opinions about yardwork....
Hi everyone!
What's your opinion on dong yardwork? sweeping, raking, picking weeds etc... I'm 4 months.
If I weren't pregnant I would be outside everyday. Now that my husband is away for the weekend and it's so nice out its driving me crazy so I want to go outside and do some yard work. Do we think this is okay? I know I'm paranoid but what's everyone's opinion?? TIA

I think it is ok to a certain extent. Just be very careful this past weekend SIL who is 6 months pregnant was doing her garden and slipped...thank god everything is ok but you should always be very careful and make sure you don't overwork yourself

Re: Opinions about yardwork....
I personally hate yard work so I loved the excuse that I couldn't help! haha! But if you want to do it I see no reason not to....just keep yourself hydrated and if you get tired take breaks!!! The sun and fresh air will be good for you!

I did.... Just know your limit, go slow and wear gloves just in case there are out door cats. Don't lift anything heavy.drink plenty of water.

That's what I plan to do this weekend. Just nothing too strenuous and keep hydrated. You can't stop living!

Re: Opinions about yardwork....
Oh yeah, I'm over five months now and I do everything - planting, raking, weeding, etc. I just posted the other day how funny b/c my mother was MOWING the lawn up until her ninth month with my sister and my brother hahaha!
Just watch lifting and bending at the mid-section/tummy and just make sure you drink tons of water.

I was weeding last weekend and I'm 6.5 months. Just listen to your body and when you are tired or get uncomfortable take break!

Re: Opinions about yardwork....
I would think it's ok, just listen to your body and stay hydrated as everyone else has mentioned. I'd wear gloves though and wouldn't be using any fertilizers, pesticides, weed killers, etc. Obviously wash your hands really well before eating.
