eta: and only in NY will cops give you wrong directions to subways leaving us to wander around in this frigid weather w/30 MPH winds for 1.5 hours!!!!!!!!!

Only in NY will a person get on the bus..wait for it to pull away and ask all of the riders " can I get a swipe of someones metrocard?" 
Oh and only in NY will someone be eating corn on the cob at 7:30 in the morning while riding on the bus. I won't be sitting next to her!!!

No freaking way....what train were you on? I have seen people eat corn on the cob AS WELL AS corn out of a can with a fork in the morning!!!!

Some homeless man spitting on people in the subway...I was almost a target but he turned and spit on someone next to him (I was infront of him)
Oh also..Fond subway memory from childhood. We went in during Christmas and the only seat left was next to this loon he was cudding a squirrel in her hands like it was her pet...Needless to say we STOOD!!

omg! I almost peed from laughing so hard....
only in NY do we think it is normal when when being on a crowded subway & people are rubbing & pressing up against you b/c the train is soo crowded.

WHAT!!!
Yes, it happened and the bizarre thing is that I was looking for an Officer to press charges and I did not find one officer! I was freaking out that I might had a black eye. Luckily, I didn't. I could only imagine walking down the aisle. ETA: The funny thing is that I had just picked up my friends from the Airport who were visiting NY for the first time.

only in NY can you get drunk, have your DH carry you into penn station attempting to get your partying asss home - and when he props you up in a seat so he can try to collect himself - you slump over and throw up on a man you don't know -- and, this is the only in NY part -- the man doesn't even FLINCH! he just takes his jacket off and goes BACK to sleep on the bench in penn! amazing!

Only in NY you can get in a cab and have the driver ask you if you want any of his "blunt" DH and I just looked at each other  and no we didnt get out. It was to cold to walk, we took our chances.
