online mortgages
Does anyone know anything about them - like quicken loans, e-loans, or any of the other ones? Are they totally shady, or just as reputable as a bank say like Chase, etc?

E-Loans is reputable. Lending Tree hooks you up with banks that "compete" for you. But I don't think their rates are super competitive overall.

we shopped around at a bunch of places but wound up getting the best rates from a place we found through lending tree. and we had amazing service from them too. dealing with them was the smoothest part of the whole home buying process. after the closing our mortgage was transferred to chase anyway, except that the rate we got was better than the one chase had originally offered. if you're interested, it was north american savings bank and their website is mortgagebyinternet.com. we worked with a guy named harold and i would highly recommend him!

they are lic. in 40 states- and are very reputable

my brother was working for a company in Florida that bought lending tree leads- they were not reputable at ALL- in fact they stole about $5K from my brother when he left- lending tree is just a middle man- and you will pay for that
