one small step for BFing mommies...
one giant leap for me 
i BFed in "public" (at my mom's house in front of my whole family) for the first time on Saturday. i was soooo tired of making bottles and spending $$$$$$ on formula when i knew that DS would do better if just BFed him.
so i bought a nursing cover, sucked it up, and did it - and he did great! i was worried he wouldn't like having his face covered, but the material lets in a lot of light so he didn't seem to notice.
i am an incredibly private person (i even hate changing clothes in front of DH) so even though this is no big deal to most people, this was a huge step for me and i am very happy and proud of it.

Good for you! Believe it or not, I've never done it
I nurse him in front of my mom or girlfriends, but never in "public". I wish I would have tried it when he was younger - now it would never be an option - he's so curious about what's going on he'd be pulling off the cover and exposing me

Yeah!!! Good for you!! I found things to be so much easier once I got over my fear of nursing in public. I was amazed that most of the time no one around me even seemed to notice, let alone care. Good for you!!

bravo...I remember the first time I went to a babies r us mommy's room....I felt like I conquered the world! Congrats - you did better than I did....I never did it with family!

Yup, when he was younger I could have, but now, NO WAY!!!!
I'll nurse infront of DH, my mom and sister, but pretty much that is it.

You already know I nurse wherever and in front of whom ever. I have no shame left. The minute I opened my legs during labor and lost track of who was coming and going, I lost all of my privacy

well i was numb from the waist down when i had DS and didn't see a thing so i can pretend no one saw a thing
