One hour - PASSED!
I was a little antsy about the one hour glucose test, but I passed! There is a family history of GD as well as adult onset Type 2 diabetes in my family and thankfully, I have avoided it for now and I hope so in the future. I am VERY psyched!
However, the nurse did say that I am still SLIGHTLY anemic despite the iron supplements I am taking. I asked her how much more I can do at this point and there isn't really anything. Again, due to my dietary issues (weight loss surgery patient) I just don't process and absorb nutients the way others do REGARDLESS of whether they come in food or pill form. No amount of green leafy veggies, beef or organ meats is going to do it. Not to mention that my stomach is less than half the size of a normal stomach and I simply don't have the room for it. The nurse said that I am not in "transfusion range" and not to worry.
I do plan on having my sister donate blood for me in the event that it is needed as a safety precaution. I did it for her 16 years ago for when she had my nephew. She wasn't anemic, but frankly, if I DO need one, I'd like to know where it came from.

Thanks. I was told that I don't have to take the 3 hour now. But others have told me different and that they had to even though they passed the 1 hour. Is there any reason why they would give a 3 hour if you passed the 1 hour? Just a lil confused.
