once baby is here...
Do you count a month as every 4 weeks or if she is born on the 4th, the 4th of the next month marks a month and so on and so on...
I guess this is kinda of for pregnancy also. When people ask how far along I am, I say 23 weeks. when they say how many months, I say 5 3/4. Is this right?

This is my method -- not sure if it's right or not:
Up until 3 months, I counted them as weeks (ie 9wks, 10wks) based on the day of the week they were born.
From 3mos until 18mos I counted them as months.
Then it was by half-years: One and a half, almost two, two, almost two and a half, two and a half, almost three, etc.

I only did half months. So before he turned 5 months (he was born 10/13), so if it was 2/28 or 3/5 I would say 4.5 months. Once he turned 5 months, usually the first two weeks of the month he'd be 5 months, second 2 weeks he'd be 5.5 months until he turned 6 months. Or sometimes I'd say he'll be 6 months next week. That kind of crap. Same thing with pregnancy. Right now I'm 31 weeks, week shy of 8 months, so I'd say I'm almost 8 months. Last week I'd say 7.5 months.

I use the birthday, like DS was born on 9/13 - so on Oct 13 I counted him as one month, so on and so forth. Only bc not every month is necessarily 4 weeks.
