most people start around CD10 but it really depends on how long your cycles are

Should I wait to go out and buy a month's supply of OPK strips or should I get them now and start a little early just because?

I would say I usually O around CD 14-ish.

I am off BCP for a while now. I have skipped a month here and there due to stress though.

You should speak to your doctor about this. It is not normal to "skip a month" and you might want to get a doctor's opinion on why this is happening. Hopefully it's nothing, but it could be indicative of a greater problem and I'd definitely check up on that!
