omg battle of the pregnant women
VENT
so I am 38w pregnant. there is another woman at my job who is 27w. She INSISTS on raising the heat in our office to 78 degrees. EVERY single morning, you can hear her increasing the thermastat. (she comes in with short sleeves on).
It is 79 in my office right now!!! I am DYING! I just lowered it to 68 and opened the windows before I pass out.
What pregnant woman is this cold?! Am i the only overheating 9 monther here?

I'm melting at 35 weeks... short sleeves...windows wide open, walking around outside with no coat on... i'd die if it was 79 in my office

Luckily I share temperature control with someone who is equally as cold as I am.

I would pass out. That's not fair to you your anyone else. I am always hot. I actually have my window open right now.
I wasn't preg but I worked with someone who used to pump the heat up to 90. No joke. I worked night hours at a bank and she was night boss. I would be bright red and flushed and used to have to go outside for a bit.
I know how you feel.

I'd be faiting..everyone is cold in my office today with their sweaters etc on...but I am happy as a clam with my short sleeve shirt!
When its warm, I have to open a window.

I'm someone who's always cold, even at 8 mo pregnant I only get the occasional hot flash BUT 78 is INSANE! Even I would be dying with the heat that high. I can't believe she gets away with that! That is beyond rude and inconsiderate!
Can you speak to HR or the office manager? I can't imagine anyone else wanting the office that warm, that is way out of the comfortable range for just about anyone!

i did just did and was told they will monitor it. i only have 4 work days left. ill just keep lowering it daily if I have to.

NYS says that offices MUST be kept at 72 degrees bc that's what they determine is comfortable I suppose for everyone. 79 is TROPICAL! I would die!

I walked around in short sleeves and no jacket all last winter when I was pregnant. I am never hot and I was my entire pregnancy.

we had no heat in our apartment building for 2 weeks...
DH walked around in sweatpants, sweatshirts, layers etc...i was in a tank top!!!
ive wear short sleeves to work almost daily bc my office is warm and i dont have a window that can be opened

I am always warm, even before pregnancy, mostly due to my PCOS and hypothyroidism but 79 is ridiculous! She should at least compromise.
And yes I am one of those crazy people you see walking around with no coat on in the middle of winter

I'm with you! DH is always turning the heat up and I'm battling with turning almost the AC on because I'm so freakinig hot! I'm only 16 weeks and I can only imagine what 39w must be like!!!!! I'm ALWAYS hot to the point where I feel like I'm going to pass out! Thank goodness my due date is June and not August!!!!

I nearly die on the way to work every morning because the girl I drive with keeps her heat on 85 (full blast). I have to open the window and stick my hands out to regulate my temperature!!!
You should tell her to wear more clothes if she's that cold. It's crazy to make everyone sweat because one person is cold!

I was sweating throughout my whole pregnancy. It's not fair to you and others in your office. If she is so cold she should put on more layers.
