Re: Old Wives Tales!!

While it's not proven anywhere, they say that the bromaline in the Pineapple (specifically the core), helps aid in implantation. I had heard it many times, and both my acupunturist and BIL (who is into energy and natural healing), both told me about it when I started my last IVF cycle.

ETA: I did that my first IVF cycle, and did get pregnant, but later miscarried.

I dunno about old wives tales, but my family is so superstitous that they firmly hold to not letting the cat out of the bag until 12 weeks have passed. I don't know if I could wait that long when the time eventually comes . . .

Have sex in the back seat. Seems like I know more people have gotten pregnant that way - a quickie in the car - than any other way. Chat Icon

Also, I heard if you give someone who is TTC a pair of your baby's socks it will bring them luck.

And laying a new baby on the bed of the couple who is trying to conceive is supposed to bring luck.

Keep in mind I come from a wacky Greek family... for all I know all this stuff is made up Chat Icon

Well everyone told me when I was preggo with DD (before we found out) that I was having a girl because I gained a lot of weight in my face and they said she was stealing my beauty! Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon

I've also been told the way you carry the baby can let you know what your having. High=boy low=girl (or vice versa...can't remember Chat Icon )

In my crazy family...they say, "don't eat tomatoes if you want a boy". Apparently the seeds/acid in tomatoes "kill" the male sperm. Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon Chat Icon
However, we are Italian...gravy on Sunday and many, many boys in the family! Chat Icon
