Old person party favor
 What would be a good favor for a 60th birthday?

I would totally do a "remember when" type of themed favor. I would do a search about what happened that year and print something out in that regard to use to attach to the favor.
For my dad's 50th, one of the favors were loot bags with his fave candy when he was a kid. people loved it! (including dad!)
or how about a chinese auction?

Are favors really necessary for every party?
I would stick with chocolate or some sort of baked good - most people will enjoy that.

For my FIL's 60th since he is Irish I made everyone a Shamrock Lollipop and wrapped it up nicely.

Will most of the guests be in the same age range? My parents went to a 50th anniversary the favor they received was a cd with a pic of the couple on their wedding day and songs that were popular 50 years ago. I know it is a birthday but maybe a baby pic on a cd with old songs from the decade they were born in.

Yes--if most of the guests are also around 60, they proabably have enought of their own trinkest & crap that they have collected over the years. I associate favors with weddings, showers & kids parties , but if you want to do something, I'd go with food.
