OK...my answer OPK's said to use at anytime..can anyone help?

And since I ordered a package of 20, I use them 3x/day just to check (my first month of doing this!!).

I started on CD 10 (28 day cycle) and I used FMU on CD 12 to see what happened. BLAZING positive. that has been the only positive. The afternoon of CD 12 was a bit lighter than the control, as well as the night one...

I took another with FMU this morning to see if it would be dark again but it's not..its a bit lighter than the control.

Can I assume my positive was yesterday morning?? I am so confused. I have all the normal signs of ovulating...I am supposed to O tomorrow, so a positive on CD 12 would make sense, right?

I dont know the answer brand but I think some brands give you two days of results - one faint line then one darker line and thats it no lines after that.

I would assume your surge was yesterday but I am on cycle 3 and these things still confuse me.

Maybe someone else has used these tests?

Thanks for the reply Chat Icon

I really am beginning to think I shouldn't have used them. I just thought i'd try them out, it was only $7 on ebay for an unopened box of 20. I have a bunch left, I'll keep retesting but I have a 28 day cycle and always around day 11&12 I get EWCM and cramps on one side or another..so i'm pretty sure it was yesterdya, day 12...we'll see...

If you got the positive on CD12, then you probably ovulated CD13 or CD14.

The only thing I wasn't sure of is that I used FMU...the box said anytime was ok...but Ive read here not to use it. If I had not used FMU i would still have yet to get a positive, the test lines are just a shade under the control. Weird..

It's possible that you caught the end of your surge if you were testing with FMU.

While most if not all OPKs will say to use anytime of the day, really the best time to test is between 2:00pm-8:00pm which is when LH is most concentrated. Even my RE's office stressed to me to never use my OPKs in the morning.

ETA: If you had tested in the afternoon, or evening of CD11, I'm almost betting you would have seen a +OPK. My guess is that you O'd on CD13. While OPKs never worked for me, if they had, I would have counted two days after my positive as 1dpo

ITA.

What was the OPK like on the night before that?

I used OPKs 1 month with FMU and only got 1 day of +OPK instead of the normal 2 I got when using them in the afternoon the other cycles.

I used an OPK the night before around 5pm BUT i wasn't able to hold my pee. I had had a soda at around 3 I think then did the OPK at 5. It was a pretty dark second line but not the same color as the control, still lighter.....I know i did it wrong, I should have not had antyhing to drink ..

I just feel other people have done them with not a long hold and got a positive...
