ok..Italians out there- the red "stuff" you put on pasta,
It is SAUCE or is it GRAVY???
now I know most people think GRAVY is brown, but some Italians call it gravy, like my family..
just curious..
what is it in your family???

not in certain Italian families...i call it GRAVY because that what my Italian grandmother called it and we lived with her..

DH's family calls it gravy. The first time I came over for Sunday Spaghetti and Meatballs and they offered me "gravy" for my spaghetti, I was like "EW! Why would you put gravy on your spaghetti?!"

My parents have used them both interchangeably. I think it was gravy more when I was younger and my grandparents were alive.

Growing up we (my immediate family) called it sauce, but my Grandma called it gravy. It used to drive me crazy! But she made some damn fine "gravy"

Same here, Kristi.. my grandmothers both called it 'gravy' and that's what my parents call it, so that is what I call it..
