Eat what you can. Don't beat yourself up if you can't stomach something...most of us couldn't either at some point in our pregnancy. The baby gets nuritrients first and then you.

Have you tried eggs, nuts and peanut butter and/or beans. Tofu also has protein if you like that. I dont eat much meat and that is where I get alot of my protein.

Re: OK...im seriously loosing...

the first 14 weeks of my pregnancy, I survived on carbs and carbs alone.. I ate the most unbalanced diet because quite frankly, all I could stomach was bread, crackers, plain potatoes, plain rice, etc..

I expressed my concerns to my doctor and she assured me that the baby was getting everything it needed and not to worry .. the prenatal vitamins helped in giving him/her the proper nutrients it needed. At that point, it's better to eat WHATEVER you can eat (even if its not the most balanced diet) rather than eat nothing at all ... as long as you can get some food down, all is ok ..

I couldn't really eat meat in my first trimester either. It was all carbs (bagels with cream cheese, actually) and chicken breast. that was it. and, the chicken had to be real plain.

In the first trimester, most doctors will tell you not to worry what to eat...just eat what you can keep down.

great recommendations- i'm on a GD diet and have to eat lots of eggs, nuts, PB & beans for additional protein.

I wouldn't worry about it too much in the first trimester due to MS, but after that, protein is super important.

Nancy,
you know the same thing happened to me. I gag just thinking about those days. It does get better after week 15/16.

What helped me was ordering take out. If I didn't make it... I was okay. Chicken parm hero, Mcdonald's cheeseburgers Chat Icon
