Not sure how her sense of humor is but I know how important it was for the friends I had that went through it.

I like the idea about having food delivered or that sort of thing. i think that even just help with normal day to day things is soooo helpful--help with her daughter, getting meals ready, grocery shopping, etc! She will have good days and bad days, so even just making sure she knows you will help her with whatever she needs and encourage her to ask for help.
Kristi-I know you said how helpless you feel, but please know that not everyone has friends like you & your sister or the support they need.
