Okay, cute idea #2.
We had Chinese food the other night and I thought how cool would it be to invite family over for dinner and get a couple of extra clean take out containers and put a bib that says I love Grandma or somehting like that in it and when they go to eat, they open that container and rather than rice or chicken and broccoli, they get the surprise of their life?

That would be cool === except in my family nobody really cares anymore (except my sister). I mean they would all be happy for us, but that's about it. DH and I are both the last of 6 kids and have about 2 dozen nieces and nephews between us so it's kinda old at this point. I mean, that's what married people DO in our families, they have babies. No biggie...
Both grandmas are just waiting to be great-grandmas. My oldest niece is 24 and his oldest nephew is 38 so....

They should be just as happy for you.
I went through a similar thing with my extended family and my wedding because everyone of them were married except us. It's not right. If they only knew what you are going through.
