Ok, so I made an appt with the doc
I want so much to tell my Dad that this is killing me.
So I bit the bullet and made an earlier appt. Means I have to take a day off work (GRR – sick days just wasting away).
Jan 31st 10:30am.
I’ll be 8weeks ago so I guess I can expect a sonogram. (and a pap)
If all is good and healthy I’ll be telling Dad.
Telling my father is the only thing I am looking forward to, is that wrong of me????? I honestly don’t care to see the sonogram (not really big on seeing it that incomplete) I just wanna know its progressing normally and its healthy.

my guess is you will feel differently once you see that tiny bean with it's heart beating on the screen. it's amazing! i can't wait to go for my next one.

Not bringing the hubby for this visit either.
And I'm keeping my Feb 25th appt - Might as well since I'll be close to the end of my first trimester by then.
Wish me luck. I hope all is moving like it should down there and growing the right way and strongly.

Think about bringing your husband - it was a special moment for both of us to see the heartbeat for the first time together. He can leave the room if you don't want him there for the pap test.

Cool- that will be nice news to share with your dad.
Make sure your Feb appt. will include a sono befor eyou invite DH- it may just be a visit, which is IMO useless for a man. They analyze pee and weigh you.

I would bring my husband. The moment you see your baby and hear/see that heartbeat for the first time, is the most amazing this ever. You should experience that with DH.

You should consider bringing your DH to the appointment.
The sonogram is amazing, even when it's just a little blinking dot. You will not have that many chances to see the life growing inside you. It really puts it all in perspective when you see it on the screen.
You can have your DH stay in the waiting room while they do the pap and other routine stuff and have them call him in for the sonogram.

You are going to love seeing your little bean.
I agree with the above posters. If you are not bringing DH only because of the pap smear, you can have him wait outside until you are done.
If your husband can't come to the appt at all then bring home some pics, or you can try to video the sono using your phone or a digital camera.

All offices are different, but when I had my internal at the first visit, the Dr asked DH to leave. He came back in the room for the sono.
Do as you wish...but seeing the heartbeat for the first time was a very special moment.
